“Jesus said to them, 'Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.' So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, a hundred and fifty-three of them; and though there were so many, the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, 'Come and have breakfast." [...] Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish." -John 21 10-12a; 13 NSI is the embodiment of Jesus' blessing on his disciples with the abundance of fish and the breaking of bread. We are united with one another when we share in the abundance of what God has offered to us in this world and NSI is a place where it is shared with our neighbors.”

“NSI is not just a food pantry, it’s a place people are provided an experience that caters to more than their hunger needs. Our neighbors are treated with dignity and respect and that helps to meet the total needs of the person. I proudly serve on the board of NSI because of the love the staff has for our neighbors and our collective drive to do whatever it takes to make our neighbors’ lives better.”
- Jalisa Dawkins
“I believe we are all called to love our neighbors as ourselves. We are directed to give food to the hungry. A neighbor cannot raise and educate their family if they are spending time worrying about basic necessities like food and shelter. ”

I am the CEO and Founder of Remember Us Urban Scouts, a nonprofit youth development organization located in Columbus, Ohio that provides youth with personal and professional life skill development. I am a dedicated servant to God, my family, and my community. Growing up in Columbus, Ohio for the majority of my life provided me with skillsets that contributed to the success of my career and being a serial entrepreneur. These are skillsets most individuals from communities like mine naturally possess from surviving their environments and God has blessed me to be able to build a career training and developing youth to fully recognize their potential by utilizing these skills and their individual gifts. I have made the transition from the Man in the streets to the Man for the streets and I am dedicated to empowering our youth to do the same!

I, currently run Ena’s Caribbean Kitchen a family owned and operated restaurant in Linden. While Ena’s has been around for over 20 years, I’ve at the helm for 15 of those! Prior to that, I started my professional career at Huntington National Bank, in the call center and then as a Branch Manager.
To date, I am running two kitchens (Ena’s and H.O.C.K Kitchen) and hope to get my food truck Ena’s OuttaRoad! back on the streets soon!
As a proud graduate of Columbus Alternative High School, I’ve made it point to be active in and around the Linden community!
The strong family values and dedication to community was instilled by my mom (Mrs Ena) and my Dad. Who I have the privilege of working with everyday!
I love what I do..the food, the culture, the people..I don’t think of my job as “work”.
I spend most of my spare time watching my kids, train, practice, or compete in some sort of sports…football, basketball, track, cheerleading. With four kids (Armani, Asher, Amara, and Avi), age 24 to 10 there’s plenty of sports and extracurricular activities to go around.

“ NSI is more than just a food pantry that addresses the basic needs of our neighbors -- it lays out the foundation for building a stronger, supportive community that respects the dignity of each individual. As a member of the NSI board, I am deeply fulfilled and humbled each day by witnessing the collective dedication and passion of our community members to make meaningful changes in lives of others.”
